The New Hudson neighborhood in Michigan is set to get a taste of gourmet Cottage Inn Pizza in a whole new style of service: a sit-in dining option, the taverna. The concept is a spin on old-world Greek pizza taverns and instills a sense of coziness as families come together for a delicious meal.
Set to open this fall, the first Cottage Inn Taverna came into being after franchise owners Sam Falk and Sean Whalen, who met at their kids’ soccer fields, realized they had nowhere to go in for a comfortable sit-down dinner after practice. Eager participants in their local community, the duo researched concepts that might qualify, and Cottage Inn Pizza, with its stellar focus on community outreach and delicious pizza alongside assortment of gourmet Mediterranean foods, fit the bill perfectly.
In an article in MLive, Debbie Masse, Senior Vice President of Cottage Inn Pizza, said that the introduction of the taverna was bringing the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based pizza franchise back to its roots in the ‘80s. In addition to its wide assortment of gourmet pizzas, Cottage Inn Taverna will include a buffet, an extensive wine, beer and cocktail menu and plenty of kid-friendly options.
Cottage Inn Taverna will expand to bedroom communities looking for gourmet pizza and craft beers in a friendly sit-down setting. The expansion will complement the growth strategies set out by Cottage Inn Pizza with its focus on delivery of a wide variety of gourmet pizzas and Mediterranean foods.
Through its more than 50 locations across the United States, Cottage Inn Pizza offers dozens of delicious varieties of gourmet pizza with crusts made from a proprietary recipe. Its success has been based on ingredients such as stellar customer service and extensive community involvement. It’s a recipe that franchisees Falk and Whalen hope to recreate in New Hudson, even as they look to expand to new territories.
